Here are some key Features of NTP 2012
- Rural Teledensity – To improve rural teledensity from the current level of around 39 to 70 by the year 2017 and 100 by the year 2020

- Cloud Computing – Next Generation Network including IPV6 (Internet Protocol version 6)
The key change is that the new policy states that spectrum will refarmed, a move that has been strongly opposed by incumbent GSM operators. But it did not spell out the details of this controversial move, which involves redistribution of spectrum in the 900 MHz band largely held by incumbents, and substituting it with frequencies in the 1800 MHz.
